LA GRANDE, Ore. -- Commencement will be held Saturday, June 13 at 10 a.m. in Community Stadium on the Eastern Oregon University campus.

Family and guests do not need tickets to attend the Commencement Ceremony. Seating at Community Stadium is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have family or guests that require special accommodations, please contact Kris Olson at 541-962-3511 or kolson@eou.edu.

Weather always plays a role in EOU's outdoor graduation. It is always a good idea to prepare accordingly for an outdoor event, especially in eastern Oregon. Bring sunscreen, some water and a hat or umbrella to provide shade, and check the forecast for La Grande. Since the weather can change at a moment's notice, it may be a good idea to also bring along a jacket or raincoat.

Commencement should not be confused with “graduation.” Graduation refers to the actual fulfillment of degree requirements resulting in the conferral of a degree and a diploma. Commencement is a ceremony. It is a time for you, your family, friends, and the EOU community to celebrate your accomplishments.
