MONMOUTH, Ore. -- The commencement ceremony for the Western Oregon University graduating class of 2009 will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11 a.m.

Tickets are not required for the ceremony and the number of guests per graduating student is not limited. Seating will be available in the stadium on a first-come, first-served basis. The gate will open for seating at 9 a.m. For those wishing to watch the graduation ceremony indoors, there will be limited seating in the New Physical Education gymnasium, also on a first-come, first-served basis. If special seating accommodations are required, please contact Nancy Minnick, 503-838-8481, to make arrangements.

The ceremony will take place at McArthur Field on the southwest corner of the campus and will last approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Graduates are advised to arrive at 10 a.m. and report to New P.E. for commencement instructions.

Rain plan: The commencement ceremony will proceed as planned regardless of weather conditions. Clear rain slickers will be available for all students participating in the ceremony.

The ceremony will be streamed live on the Internet (site to be announced). Cable television stations and channels to be announced.

WOU will also host a free senior send off bbq for graduation seniors and their families Friday, June 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Gentle House.
