EUGENE, Ore. -- Rescue workers pulled a 52-year-old woman from the wreckage of a black Ford Explorer after the car overturned when hit by a white Explorer during the morning commute.

The Springfield resident was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police closed the exit from I-105 westbound to Coburg Road after the crash obstructed traffic at the intersection of Coburg and Oakway in an attempt to keep additional traffic out of the area.

Eugene Police officers along with Eugene Fire and EMS responded to the crash Tuesday morning at 8:14 in the intersection of Coburg Road and Oakway Road.

A black Ford Explorer traveling northbound on Coburg Road, driven by the 52-year-old Springfield woman, entered the intersection and was struck by a white Ford Explorer entering the intersection from the westbound I-105 exit, according to police.

The impact of the crash caused the black Explorer to overturn, trapping the female driver. Firefighers extricated her from the wreckage. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  No other injuries were reported.

No citations have been issued at this time, and the incident is still under investigation by officers.
