4H sheep killed, shot at close range
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Three sheep were shot in the head at close range in a Star, Idaho, pasture this week, and police are asking for the public's help to find who is responsible.

Star Police and the Ada County Sheriff's Office started investigating after the first report Tuesday morning from the sheep's owner.

Then two sheep more were found shot the same way overnight Thursday in the same pasture near Star Road and Joplin Road.

The owner told police that the sheep were being raised to be shown by 4H students.

The sheep were valued at about $250 each.

The sheriff's office says the evidence points to more than one person involved, and that they walked onto the rancher's property to get close enough to shoot the sheep at close range.

Entering someone's property to destroy livestock is a felony in Idaho punishable by up to five years in prison.
