CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A police officer who stopped a car for a traffic infraction caught a wiff of marijuana -- and found $14,000 cash and evidence to arrest the driver on suspicion of manufacturing and distributing pot.

On Thursday, July 2, around midnight, a Corvallis Police Officer stopped Conner Blaustein, 20, in the 2700 block of NW 9th Street after witnessing a traffic infraction, according to police.

During the traffic stop the officer smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the car.

Officers searched the vehicle and located more than 70 grams of marijuana -- about 2.5 ounces -- along with packaging and processing materials and more than $14,000 cash.

Police later executed a search warrant at Blaustein's residence in Corvallis and located additional evidence of marijuana possession, manufacture and distribution.

Blaustein was lodged at the Benton County Jail on suspicion of Unlawful Manufacture of Marijuana and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
