CHESHIRE, Ore. -- Two people were taken by Reach helicopter to a Portland hospital after a fire destroyed their home in Cheshire.

The fire broke out at the Grandview Mobile Home Park around one o'clock Tuesday morning. It took crews about three hours to get a handle on it.

Both victims were flown to Portland's Emanuel Hospital with severe burn injuries.

Flames were contained to just the one home, and so far no cause has been determined.  Nobody else was injured in the fire.

Bridget Howell, the couple's granddaughter, said the McClearys are both in critical condition at Emanuel Hospital in Portland.

Harley McCleary is still on a breathing machine, Howell said. He took a turn for the worse about 4 p.m. and his kidneys were shutting down, but now doctors say they are restoring function. He has burns on 55 percent of body.

Donna McCleary also still on breathing machine. Howell said the burns on her face and head are pretty bad.
