GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. - A 22-year-old Florida woman remained in critical condition Sunday after crashing while riding a kid's bike down the steep road that leads from Timberline Lodge a day earlier, authorities said.

Oregon State Police identified the injured woman as Laura Ashley Sherrod of Panama City, Fla.

She may have been participating in an event organized by Zoobombers, those known for riding usual bicycles, such as minibikes, tall bikes and choppers, down hill from the Oregon Zoo in Portland's Washington Park as part of a regular social event. She was riding a Trek 'Mountain Cub,' according to state police.

The accident was referenced on a Zoobomber Web forum, calling Saturday's incident "Hoodbomb."

"Laura was taken out via helicopter to OHSU. c-cake went with her. High speed into metal post, shoe, bike and girl went in different directions," posted revphil on the forum under a heading entitled "hoodbomb claims 2." "I dont know who the other bomber who crahed but apparently we have a Guardrail 2.0. prayers for laura. hope the rest of the crew makes it home safe."

Another poster named cupcake posted: "she got going way too fast at the start, lost control, and slid on her left side into a post. which she hit with her chest. she broke some ribs, and her shoulder blade. she colapsed a lung and punctured the other."

Police on Sunday could not verify that she was part of a Zoobomber group or how exactly she crashed.

According to state police Trooper Mike Reel, the woman was the last of a group of about seven bicycle riders who started heading downhill from the lodge on Timberline Road at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday. At some point, she collided with a fog marker for an unknown reason and then was found critically hurt on the road's shoulder by a passing motorist, Reel said. No one witnessed the wreck.

Sherrod was treated at the scene by crews from American Medical Response Reach and Treat and the Hoodland Fire Department before being taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Oregon Health and Science University, where she remained Sunday.
