EUGENE, Ore. -- The Oregon legislature all but outlawed field burning -- starting next year.
The practice remains in effect this summer, with test fires and potential field burning Monday in Brownsville, Harrisburg, Scio and Sublimity.
The plume of smoke from a field burn could be clearly seen from the Eugene/Springfield area Monday afternoon.
