Over-capacity crowd attends health care town hall
COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. -- So many people showed up for a town hall meeting on health care reform here Wednesday morning, Rep. Peter DeFazio took the meeting outside.
DeFazio met with the over-capacity crowd outside the community center here in the first of 14 town hall meetings he is conducting on proposed reforms to the American health care system.

DeFazio has another town hall in Drain, Ore., at noon today.
Other town halls around the country have met with loud protests. One Northwest lawmaker even received a death threat, prompting him to hold his town hall meetings by phone.

That was not the case in Cottage Grove, where people voiced concerns about care for the elderly and the future of Medicare and Medicaid.
Some citizens said they were concerned that the government is moving too fast. Even people in favor of reforms said it might be moving too fast.
A lot of people said they were confused about the bill and what it will change.
DeFazio wouldn't say if he would vote for or against bill because it is not complete and there are still revisions to be made. He said he can't speculate on what the final version of the bill will be.
He explained how the bill works but for the most part listened. He didn't always have an answer for people, but listened to their concerns.
