Man reading 1,000 page health care bill out loud

EUGENE, Ore. -- Have you read the proposed health care bill?

It's more than 1,000 pages.

A Eugene man is trying to get through every single page.

The man goes by the name Urinal Gum. He said he didn't want to reveal his real name because he works for an insurance company.

He started reading the bill out loud in Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza at the Lane County Courthouse in downtown Eugene last Saturday. He started at 10 a.m. By that evening, he was on page 288.

"I don't know what to think about the bill," said Gum. "I want to read it. I'm going into this with an open mind. I don't know if I'm for or against it. I'm going to discover that."

Saturday, Gum said he would be there until midnight at the latest and he will likely return this weekend to continue.
