Timothy Lee Goodman By KPIC.com staffYONCALLA, Ore. -- A father faces assault and strangulation charges after a family member reported seeing him place his hand over the nose and month of his 8-month-old son. The boy suffered bruises to his head and chest and showed signs of hemorrhaging in the ears and face consistent with having his air supply cut off, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Deputy responded Sunday morning to a Charles Street home in Yoncalla, Ore., after receiving a report that the boy's father had placed his hand over the nose and mouth of the boy. Deputies arrested Timothy Lee Goodman, 30, on suspicion of third degree assault and strangulation. The child was taken to Riverbend Hospital in Eugene for treatment of injuries sustained during the assault including bruising of the head and chest, according to the sheriff's office. Investigators said the child had petechial hemorrhaging in the ears and on the face which is consistent with having the air supply cut off. Another child living at the residence was taken into protective custody by the State Child Welfare Department. |
