EUGENE, Ore. -- Police arrested a 23-year-old man after a Eugene cafe was robbed at gunpoint by a man dressed in all black Monday night.
The suspect robbed Kosmo's Cafe in the River Road/Santa Clara neighborhood with what appeared to be a gun. A police spokeswoman could not confirm whether or not the gun was real or a fake.
The suspect forced an employee inside around 10 p.m. as staff at Kosmo's Cafe were closing up for the night.
A Lane County Sheriff's deputy stopped a man based on a Eugene police description of the suspect. The deputy arrested the man, Brian Thomas Schmidt, 23, pictured at right, after consulting with police.
Schmidt was in the Lane County Jail Tuesday on charges of robbery and kidnapping.
