ALBANY, Ore. -- A woman getting a shampoo at a hair salon was pinned between the shampoo bowl and a car that crashed through the front of the salon Friday afternoon, sending the woman to the hospital.  Late Friday evening, friends called KVAL News to confirm the woman had passed away from her injuries.

A white Toyota sedan drove through the front of the Perfect Look salon outside Fred Meyer Friday afternoon, knocking over three stylist stations before pinning a customer between the shampoo station and the car, said Michelle Ellis, the salon's manager.

The customer was bleeding a lot, Ellis said, and was taken to the hospital with a possible broken femur.

Wanda Omdahl with the Albany Fire Department said the vehicle was a 2005 Toyota Camry. The driver told firefighters she accelerated to pull into a parking spot and drove through the wall.

The wall is two feet of brick below a window, Omdahl said.

The crash left the salon without power.
