NORTH BEND, Ore. -- Rescuers took an injured Eugene woman from the scene of an ATV accident on the Oregon Dunes to a nearby hospital Sunday morning.

Sara Lawrence, 61, suffered a possible broken ankle in the crash in the Horsefall area of the Oregon Dunes, about a mile north of the parking lot, the Coos County Sheriff's Office said.

Sheriff's deputies and Hauser Fire & Rescue transported Lawrence from the sand. She was taken by ambulance to Bay Area Hospital.

Deputies responded to the scene around 8:50 a.m. Sunday morning. Lawrence was with Rodney Lundy, 53, of Eugene, Ore., when the ATV she was on crashed, the sheriff's office said.
