Firefighters respond to fire in wood-drying kiln

JEFFERSON, Ore. -- A commercial wood-drying kiln caught fire Monday morning, sparking a two-alarm fire that put up heavy smoke.

Firefighters suspect electrical wiring is to blmae.

The fire happened at 10:46 a.m. at 13334 Marlatt Rd. The owner was drying large slabs of wood for use in his business. The kiln was putting up lots of smoke when firefighters arrived.
