PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A second medical marijuana smoking lounge is expected to open in Portland by next week.

The Cannabis Cafe will be operated by the state's chapter of NORML, or the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

It will join another lounge that opened in Portland last month after the federal government indicated it will no longer arrest or prosecute patients and suppliers.

National officials for NORML say the Oregon pot lounges are the first of their kind in the country.

California has dispensaries where medical marijuana can be purchased, but officials say only Oregon has public places where people can socialize and use marijuana.
