City staff want to expand smoking ban
Should you be able to smoke in front of the city library downtown? By KVAL.com staffEUGENE, Ore. -- Smoke 'em if you got 'em? Maybe not in front of the Eugene library downtown and other public buildings. City of Eugene staff are asking the City Council to change the current smoking ordinance, which bans smoking within 25 feet of a door or window. They want the ban to include the areas around city buildings that provide services to children, like the library, Amazon Pool and Peterson Barn. A public hearing is schedule for Jan. 19.
