EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - The former owner of a Springfield shoe repair shop has been sentenced to 12½ years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing three young girls.

Timothy McKeegan cried and apologized to the victims' families during Monday's sentencing hearing in Eugene. The 50-year-old said he was deeply sorry and ashamed of himself.

McKeegan will be on probation for 10 years after his release and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Judge Maurice Merten followed Deputy District Attorney Erik Hasselman's sentencing recommendation.

Hasselman noted that McKeegan's youngest victim will be 18 when the sentence is completed.
