Second body found washed up on Oregon Coast

EUGENE, Ore. -- Partial remains of a human body were found Sunday on a beach in Yachats about a mile north of where the body of one of two missing fishermen was found Dec. 3.

On Nov. 18, 62-year-old Bill Bodewig of Yachats and 23-year-old Nick Lutz of Florence disappeared while fishing on a rocky stretch of the Oregon Coast between Yachats and Heceta Head.

Bodewig's body was found Dec. 3 in the surf near Smelt Sands State Park, about a mile from where a beachcomber found these as-yet-unidentified human remains around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

The medical examiner is working to identify the body. Investigators said no other information would be released pending positive identification.
