YONCALLA, Ore. — A motorcade carrying the body of 24-year-old Sgt. Joshua A. Lengstorf of Yoncalla, Ore., made its way from Eugene to Roseburg on Monday by way of Yoncalla.

People lined the streets with American flags to honor Lengstorf.

Lengstorf was killed in an attack by insurgents in Afghanistana. He was a 2004 graduate of Elkton High School.

Lengstorf was one of three Fort Carson soldierskilled in an attack by insurgents in Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defensive.

They have been identified as Lengstorf; 24-year-old Spc. Brian R. Bowman of Crawfordsville, Ind.; and 19-year-old Pvt. John P. Dion of Shattuck, Okla.

The military says they died from wounds they suffered when their unit was attacked with improvised explosives and small-arms fire.

They were assigned to Fort Carson's 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, part of the 4th Infantry Division.
