SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- U.S. Marshals tracked two suspects from a robbery that turned to murder in California Jan. 3 to a bedroom closet in Springfield Thursday afternoon.
Marshals and Springfield police grabbed Robert Reil, 30, as he ran out the back of a house on U Street in Springfield. They found Amour Villamore, 30, hiding in a bedroom closet.
The investigation began in the City of Orange, Calif., after a robbery that took place Jan. 3. One person was shot and killed in the robbery, and Reil and Villamore were considered suspects in the case. The investigation led authorities in California to believe that the two suspects were either fleeing to -- or already in -- Oregon.
The Marshals joined the chase on Jan. 12. With the help of the Springfield Police Department, they gathered information leading to the location of the two fugitives in Springfield, Ore.
