Police: Woman raped in shower room at Coos Bay RV park

COOS BAY, Ore. -- A 31-year-old woman reported being raped in the shower room at an RV park in Coos Bay early Wednesday morning by a man in his 60s with pock marks and open sores on his face, according to police.

Officers arrived at the park at 555 S. Empire Blvd., in Coos Bay, Ore., around 12:30 a.m. and set up a perimeter in an attempt to trap the suspect. A police dog was deployed in an effort to locate the suspect. Police were unable to locate a suspect.

Police are asking for the public's help identifying the suspect. He was described as an older white man in his 60s, abround 6-foot to 6-foot-2 with a medium build, grey collar length hair and a long scruffy grey beard. He was last seen wearing a dark blue flannel shirt and old worn blue jeans. His face was described as having pock marks and open sores.

The woman reported she was taking a shower when a stranger entered the women's shower room and raped her.

The shower rooms have locks. Police are still trying to determine how the suspect gained entry to the building, said Capt. Cal Mitts with the Coos Bay Police Department.
