EUGENE, Ore - It has been more than a month since the hands-free law went into effect in Oregon. Police tell us it is being strictly enforced.
Here are the numbers:
Oregon State Police have issued 41 citations and given 259 warnings.
Springfield police have issued 12 citations.
Eugene police issued zero citations in January because it was their educational training period for this new law. A spokeswoman says they are enforcing it now.
