Easier travel
Two OSU professors are finding ways to make it easier to travel for those with disabilities. Joe and Kate Zaworski have been working with the National Center for Accessible Transportation to improve public transportation. Together, they've come up with a machine that can help people get from a wheelchair onto a plane or bus.
They have also worked with Lane Transit to make it easier for people in a wheelchair to get on and off the bus.
Kate also developed a wider, more friendly lavatory for planes.
Her design should help both the able-bodied and handicapped, and will be used on Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner.
