LINCOLN CITY, Ore. – One person was killed and two other hurt by gunfire in Lincoln City on Sunday.

Lincoln City Police said they received information that a shooting had taken place at The Ridge Apartments located near High School Drive in Lincoln City at about 4:30 p.m.

A short time later, police stopped an SUV matching the description of a vehicle seen at the apartment complex and pulled the vehicle over on Highway 101.

Inside, police said they found three Hispanic males, one of which was deceased. The two other occupants had gunshot wounds. One was rushed to a hospital.

According to a press release, the investigation led to the arrest of Samuel R. Fajardo-Landa, age 19, as well as one juvenile. 

Fajardo-Landa and the juvenile were taken into custody without incident just after midnight, after one of them was observed leaving an apartment by officers securing the scene. The other was talked out a few minutes later.

A second juvenile was located and taken into custody about 6:00 a.m. Monday morning after the Oregon State Police SWAT team talked him out of another apartment near the scene of the shooting.

The two juveniles are being lodged in the Lincoln County Jail on charges of Murder, Attempted Murder, First Degree Assault and First Degree Criminal Mischief.  Fajardo-Landa is being lodged in the Lincoln County Jail on the charge of Conspiracy to Commit Murder.

The third person in the SUV had minor injuries and was reportedly working with police investigators.

Police did not speculate on the motive or situation behind the shootings and are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 541-994-3636.

An investigation is under way.
