Host father accused of sex abuse involving exchange student
JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- The sheriff arrested a man who volunteers with the high school football team in Junction City on suspicion of sex abuse involving an exchange student who lived in his home.
The Lane County District Attorney and Sheriff's offices confirmed James McClintock, 51, is accused of five counts of sex abuse and one count of private indecency, all misdemeanors. He was arraigned Feb. 5. He was still in the Lane County Jail Wednesday afternoon on $120,000.
The sheriff's office said the charges stem from a series of events but would not elaborate on what investigators think happened.
The girl is no longer living with the family.
Prosecutors and investigators wouldn't release specifics about the case but said the charges involve sexual contact with the girl, who was under the age of 18.
McClintock has also volunteered with the Junction City High School football team, according to a district spokeswoman. He was not a paid employee.
His attorney could not be reached for comment. McClintock's wife had no comment.
