Connections in high places for mystery man?

PORTLAND, Ore. - Investigators say his real name is Doitchin Krasev and that he may have connections in high places and an international history.

Krasev, known as Jason Evers, worked for Oregon Liquor Commission for years and is accused of stealing a murdered boy’s identity.

Records show Krasev may have attended a private prep school the Georgetown Day School in Washington, D.C., which is an expensive and exclusive school that Michelle Obama toured when looking for a school for the president's daughters.

Reports show he won the Socrates Award for his "uncommonly inquisitive approach to learning."

Investigators said they are looking to see if Krasev, possibly of Bulgarian descent, is related to someone who served in the Reagan administration.

From Washington, D.C., he went to another selective school, Davidson College in North Carolina. The college paper, The Davidsonian, listed him as a freshman in 1992.

But just as he was graduating in 1996 investigators said they believe he created a new identity using the name of the little boy, Jason Evers, who was murdered in Ohio.

Though he had his college degree, he got a GED at Araphoe Community College in Colorado and started a new life as 17-year-old Evers, which was about five years younger than his real age.

Investigators are still checking to see if he has a criminal record and if he is a U.S. citizen.

He is being held in the Multnomah County Jail.
