ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A hearing has been cancelled that was set for next week for Dustin Wallace, who is accused of murdering a 5-year-old girl.

The 16-year-old Wallace is accused of murdering and raping 5-year-old Sahara Dwight last week at a home in west Roseburg.

The Douglas County District Attorney's Office said Tuesday that they have been notified by the circuit court that the scheduled appearance on July 19 has been put on hold while the case awaits presentation to the Douglas County Grand Jury.

Wallace was arraigned Monday in front of Pro-Temp Judge Bill Marshall on charges of aggravated murder, rape, sexual abuse and unlawful sexual penetration.

He faces possible life in prison if convicted of the aggravated murder charge.

A memorial fund has been set up for the victim. If you would like to contribute, you can do that at any Wells Fargo bank in the name of Sahara Dwight.
