SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- With Selection Sunday still days away, March Madness hits Lane County early as the Springfield Museum’s new exhibit entitled “March Madness” opened to the public on Friday.
The exhibit pays tribute to the victorious teams in Springfield’s past who've made it to state tournaments.
The legacies of past coaches like Jim Fryback, Irv Roth, and Jerry Haugen are featured.
Museum director Jim Cupples said he hopes the exhibit will help the community rally around our current basketball success.
“With the Ducks really playing well and our lady Millers doing so well ... all that stuff combined seemed like a perfect time to do March Madness,” said Cupples.
The exhibit is open 10 am to 4 pm Saturday through Thursday and from 10 am-7 pm Fridays. The museum will host the exhibit through the month of March.
