Air Guard plans Veterans Day flyovers Friday through Sunday

SALEM, Ore. - The Oregon Air National Guard is scheduled to conduct Veterans Day flyovers for various ceremonies at locations throughout Oregon, Washington and California.

F-15 Eagle fighter jets from the 142nd Fighter Wing in Portland, Ore., and the 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls, Ore., are scheduled to conduct flyovers at the following locations and approximate times on the following days:

Friday, Nov. 9:
Veterans Day Open House, Camp Withycombe, Noon

Saturday, Nov. 10:
Vancouver Veterans Day Parade, Vancouver, Wash., at 10:57 a.m.
Albany Veterans Day Parade, Albany, Ore., at 11:45 a.m.

Sunday, Nov. 11:

Veterans Day event, Tulelake, Calif., at 10:55 a.m.
Scappoose Veterans Day Celebration, Scappoose, Ore., at 11 a.m.
Veterans Day Parade, Klamath Falls, Ore., 11 a.m.
Veterans Day event, Bend, Ore., at 11:20 a.m.
Veterans Day event, Canyonville, Ore., at 11:30 a.m.

All flyovers will be approximately 1,000 feet above ground level and 350 knots airspeed. 
Flights could be cancelled or times changed due to inclement weather or operational contingencies.
 
The 173rd Fighter Wing is based at Kingsley Field, in Klamath Falls, Ore., and is the only remaining F-15 pilot training school in the nation.

The 142nd Fighter Wing maintains continuous alert with F-15's from the Portland Air National Guard Base as part of the Aerospace Control Alert (ACA) mission.
