Albany man found dead in van at trailhead outside Oakridge
OAKRIDGE, Ore. - An Albany man was found dead inside his van at a trailhead between Eugene and Oakridge on Highway 58.
Anthony Dale Lair, 52, was reported missing June 30 by his daughter, who lives out of state, police said. He was last seen June 29.
On Sunday evening, Senior Trooper Marshall Maher stopped to check on a van parked at the Goodman Creek trailhead along Hwy 58.
The van's curtains were closed, but Maher could see a man inside who appeared to be dead, police said. Maher forced entry through a passenger window and confirmed that the man was dead.
The man was later identified as Lair.
State police and the Lane County medical examiner are continuing the investigation into Lair's death but said there is no evidence of a crime.
