ALBANY, Ore. -- A teenager died after crashing her car into an elderly man's van in Albany Wednesday night, police officials said.

Albany Police said that 18-year-old Danica Dillenbeck was driving on Knox Butte Road Wednesday night when at about 8 p.m. she crossed the center lane and hit a van head-on. She was pronounced dead from injuries she sustained in the crash.

The driver of the van, Oather Messer, 78 of Lebanon, and his passenger, 90-year-old Dorothy Meier, were taken to a local area hospital, police said.

Messer was reported as in fair condition, while Meier was listed as in serious condition.

Police said they are continuing an investigation into the crash. They added that they are not sure if Dillenbeck was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
