Are you ready for some road work? Busy week ahead

Major road construction is scheduled for the week of June 15, weather permitting.

Use caution in work zones and obey traffic control signage and flaggers. 
 
 
CITY OF EUGENE:
 
13th Avenue W. (Polk St. to Washington St.):
Contractor will move to the north side of the street, starting in the Polk Street intersection and working east to Adams Street.  Expect lane and parking closures on the north (left) side of the street.  Expect workers and construction equipment in the street.
 
13th Avenue W. (Garfield St. to Polk St.):  Contractor will begin reconstructing sidewalk ramps in this section.  Expect lane and parking closures during the work.
 
25th Avenue E.  (Chula Vista Dr. to Van Ness St.)  Contractors will be working on the wastewater collection system this week. Be prepared for closures to on-street parking, detours, brief delays, construction equipment and workers in the roadway.
 
Amazon Parkway (24th Ave. to 27th Ave.):  Contractor may begin reconstructing a sidewalk ramp at 24th Place.  Expect lane restrictions and watch for construction traffic.
 
Devos Street (Barger Dr. to Jessen Dr.):  Street will be closed Thursday and Friday for construction of paving overlay.  Use caution and alternate routes. 
 
Dewey Street (Barger Dr. to Cody Ave.):  Street will be closed Thursday and Friday for construction of paving overlay.  Use caution and alternate routes.
 
Goodpasture Island Bridge (at Goodpasture Island Road and Delta Highway):  Clearing of roadside vegetation will occur on the shoulder areas of Goodpasture Island Road and the Delta Highway on/off ramps.  Currently no lane restrictions are planned but expect slower traffic and workers/equipment adjacent to the roadways.
 
Irwin Way E. (Barger Dr. to North Way):  Street will be closed Thursday and Friday for construction of paving overlay.  Use caution and alternate routes. 
 
North Way  (E. Irwin Way to W. Irwin Way):  Street will be closed Thursday and Friday for construction of paving overlay.  Use caution and alternate routes.

Roosevelt Boulevard (Terry St. to Danebo Ave.):  Contractor will continue to reconstruct sidewalk ramps at various intersections and constructing storm water planters along Roosevelt Boulevard.  Expect lane closures with equipment and workers in the street.
 
Willamette Street (11th to 13th avenues):  Willamette Street remains closed to northbound traffic between 11th and 13th avenues to allow construction of a new pedestrian and bicycle crossing on Willamette at 12th Alley.  Only one lane will be open for southbound traffic.
 
 
LANE TRANSIT DISTRICT:
 
West Eugene EmX Project:  During nighttime hours 7 p.m.-7 a.m. Sunday through Friday, portions of traffic lanes may be restricted on West 6th, West 7th, and West 11th Avenues and Charnelton and Garfield Streets  as crews locate utilities, relocate water services outside the West Eugene EmX project footprint, and explore the root zones of selected trees. During daytime hours 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, portions of Charnelton Street between West 6th and West 7th will be restricted to one lane as EWEB crews relocate underground electric.
 
 
LANE COUNTY:
 
Glenwood Boulevard and E. 17th Avenue, Springfield:  Glenwood Boulevard will be closed, open to local traffic only, from Franklin to E. 17th on June 16-20.  Glenwood Boulevard from E. 17th to 22nd Avenue will remain open to traffic.  Detour routes will be posted. Construction activity will be conducted during the night time from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. East 17th Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Glenwood Boulevard to Henderson Avenue on June 14-15 but will remain open to local traffic only. Construction activity will be conducted during daylight hours from 7 a.m. to 6 a.m.  Traffic will be controlled with the use of flaggers, as necessary.  Expect minimal delays.
 
Layng Road, Cottage Grove (at milepost 0.20 from Mosby Creek Road):  Mosby Creek covered bridge is closed until September 15 for the rehabilitation project.  Traffic should use Row River Road or Mosby Creek Road.
 
Marcola Road, Marcola (Mile Post 5.56 to Mile Post 5.67, north of Alder Branch Bridge):   Crews will be performing chip seal repairs.  Expect flaggers and possible 15-minute delays, and seek alternate routes whenever possible.  Schedule is subject to change.
 
Paschelke Road, Marcola (Mile Post 0.04 to Mile Post 0.10):  The Earnest covered bridge is closed until June 24 for scaffolding installation and painting.  Traffic should use Wendling Road to access Paschelke Road during the closure.
 
River Road, Eugene (Mile Post 7.20 to Mile Post 7.94, Beacon Dr. to Spring Cr.):   Crews will be performing chip seal repairs.  Expect flaggers and possible 15-minute delays, and seek alternate routes whenever possible.  Schedule is subject to change.
 
South Willamette Street, Eugene (S. 57th Ave. to Fox Hollow): Road will remain open while the contractor works on paving the road and driveways.  Traffic will be controlled by flaggers, as necessary.  Expect minimal delays.
