CORVALLIS, Ore. - Authorities are investigating the death of an Oregon State University student found dead at a sorority house near campus.
The Corvallis Police Department responded to a 911 call around 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the Alpha Chi Omega sorority house on 26th Street in Corvallis.
Authorities found Lauren C. Snow, 20, deceased inside the house when they arrived.
Lieutenant Brewer with Corvallis PD said that the state medical examiner completed an autopsy Tuesday. The report found nothing criminal or suspicious in connection with the death. They are still waiting on toxicology results to come in from the autopsy, which could take up to two weeks.
Snow was a psychology major at Oregon State University.
According to her Facebook page, Snow was from Littleton, Colorado and graduated from J.K. Mullen High School in 2010.
The unexpected death leaves students in the OSU campus community in shock.
"It hasn't sunk in," said Alex Ries, a member of Acacia Fraternity. "We don't know why it happened or what had happened. Just the fact that somebody died in a Greek house is really concerning to us."
Ries said it's times like these when the Greek community comes together to get through the tragedy.
"Our hearts go out to Alpha Chi Omega and we hope that it doesn't negatively affect the Greek community in the future," Ries said.
The Medical Examiner's Office is still investigating a cause of death.
According to Corvallis Police, there's no reason to believe foul play was involved.
