NEAR McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Fire crews put out a large pole barn fire in a rural area south of McMinnville early Wednesday morning. No one was hurt.
McMinnville Fire Department officials said dispatchers got a call about a structure fire on S.W. Trestle View Lane just after midnight.
Firefighters said the fire went to two alarms because they needed more water at the rural location. Firefighters also said they were delayed fighting the blaze because propane tanks vented and exploded in the barn.
Firefighters said equipment inside the barn, including several vehicles and a 38-foot fifth-wheel trailer, were destroyed.
Damage was estimated at $300,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
