Burglar swipes cash from 5th Street Market food carts

EUGENE, Ore. - A man swiped cash from the registers of 3 food carts in the 5th Street Market early Wednesday morning after stealing keys from the janitor's room.

The suspect entered the northwest door of the market around 2:38 a.m., grabbed the keys and used them to enter the main courtyard and the café area, police said.

While in the café, the suspect entered three of the four food carts and stole cash, police said.

The suspect then came into view on East 5th Avenue wearing a black pack with reflective straps (possibly a Dakine), blue zip-up jacket (form fitting), a dark-colored fitted baseball hat, dark pants, and white and dark-colored shoes.

Originally he had a flat screen TV between his backpack and back with a large chain around his neck.
