Police: Woman crossing Delta Hwy on foot hit by pickup
The pedestrian was taken from the scene with life-threatening injuries

EUGENE, Ore. - A woman suffered life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a pickup truck while trying to cross a busy road during rush hour Tuesday.

Sylvia Rose Titus, 22, remained in critical condition Wednesday morning.

Witnesses told police the pedestrian was on the center median and attempted to cross Delta Highway from the center to the west side, when she was hit. Traffic was heavy at the time, police said.

The crash happened around 5:44 p.m. The road was closed until 9:20 p.m.

The driver of the white pickup is a 26-year-old woman from Harrisburg, Oregon.

No charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
