Car hits utility pole
EUGENE, Ore. - A 4-door sedan crashed into a utility pole on Calumet Avenue in the Santa Clara area of Eugene around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon.
The Lane County Sheriff's Office and the Eugene Water and Electric Board crews responded to the crash around 12:45 p.m.
The driver told KVAL News she became drowsy behind the wheel and crashed into the pole.
She had two small children with her at the time of the crash.
The driver said no one was injured.
EWEB taped off the crash site, blocking a small section of Calumet Avenue on both sides. The sheriff's office said the crash didn't knock out power.
However, a passing driver said she couldn't get to her home because of the tape.
