Girl found in Arcata, Calif., AMBER Alert canceled

EUGENE, Ore. -- The AMBER Alert issued for a missing girl that was taken by her father Saturday afternoon has been canceled after California Highway Patrol officers located the suspected truck in Arcata, California.
The child, 18-month-old Perfection Angelas, is a ward of the state and under the care of Adult and Family Services in Eugene. The father, Angelo Muniz, 47 from Lebanon, was visiting with Perfection Friday morning when at 10:50 a.m. AFS employees reported that he took the child from their Eugene offices.
Muniz was located in Arcadia with Perfection Saturday afternoon. He has been taken into custody on charges of custodial interference in the first degree. Police have also recovered the bluish-gray Mazda B2600 Pickup that Muniz was driving.
Police received information that they were last seen at the KOA campground near Crescent City, California, which confirmed investigator's suspicions that Muniz was taking the child across state borders.
Officials have not released any further information about the abduction.
Thank god they found her! What I would like to know is, if this child is in state custody and the father was seeing her at the state office, how do he get her in the first place? Don't they watch the child with the parents at all times? If the parent is unfit in the first place you shouldn't leave them alone with the child, especially a young child.
What a STUPID name, perfection...Â

Hope they find her.....
The Fathers in hispanic cultures are very "in control" of the family. They don't do very well when someone takes that control away. What is sad is they genuinely love their children. BUT. Where is Mom and why is there no mention of her in this. Not sure but it feels like this guy could be why Mom is out of the picture and the girl is in custody.
So sad...so many parents that really want a life with their kids but have to go thru the system to be able too! I understand that...but, when relatives try to step in and do the right thing when they have a good life to give these kids and the system wants to go ahead and throw them with people that they don't even know...I have a problem with...I have been watching a friend go thru yrs. of trying to get custody of her grandchildren cuz her daughter was a loser and the kids would be fine with her. The system has failed us soo many times and that means they fail the children!
What I  mean is that I realize there are some parents out there that do not desreve to have their kids, but shoud the rest of the family be taken out of the equation?
 Not necessarily!!!Â
