EUGENE, Ore. -- City council meets Monday night to decide on where to place the pilot program of volunteer run homeless camps.
The 90-day pilot program would be put in place with camps set up at one or more selected city owned properties. City officials said the volunteer-run camps would have a 15-person limit.
The city hasn’t made a definite ruling on which site or sites may be picked Monday.
SLEEPS advocate Alley Valkyrie said she believes the top two sites are the current "Whoville" camp at Broadway and Hilyard and a vacant city lot along Roosevelt Boulevard near Garfield.
