Man dies in stabbing at Cottage Grove mobile home park
EUGENE, Ore. -- A man died after he was stabbed at the Frontier Mobile Home Park late Friday night, Cottage Grove Police said.
Police said they arrested Willie Beaty, 46, near where the stabbing took place.
Officers were called out to the stabbing at the Frontier Mobile Home Park around 9:25 p.m. Friday. The person on the phone told police they thought Beaty was the stabber.
Arriving officers found Samuel Hunt, 30, in the roadway near space #37 bleeding from a stab wound to his chest. Officials said they performed first aid until medics arrived to take him to the hospital.
Police found Beaty near the scene of the stabbing took him into custody.
Emergency responders took Hunt to the Cottage Grove Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Cottage Grove Police are continuing their investigation with the Lane County District Attorney's Office.
Please show some respect both of these men have moms,dads, brothers,sisters aunts, uncles and children both of these men lost this fight and they both have people who care for them. You need to take your fight somewhere else it is very rude and distasteful and it makes me sick to my stomach that you would use this opportunity to spew your garbage.
@lyric@lyric Sorry Lyric. But this is a public forum. You get the opinion of the public. You can't expect everyone to feel as if they lost a relative or friend. I live a mile away form the incident. My son has a friend that lives in that trailer park. But this incident had no affect on my life.

Unembployment / economic uncertainty / alcohol and tobacco addiction fuel angry confrontations between neighbors and friend. It's certainly a tragedy that someone has been murdered. The means by which it had developed is a symptom of something just as horrible and more commonplace as our economy depresses even further. Sarcasm aside...you can bet those family members are just as angry about WHY it happened as they are about the very fact it happened. Your finger-shaking response has the same value as my spewed garbage...zero

This is another example of why all knives should be removed from the private sector. Their ONLY purpose is to cut!
We can stop this sensless voilence if we confiscate all knives today.
On the other hand...if we legalized stabbings we could TAX them....yeh, yeh...I can see it now. We could create a revenue stream and hire more teachers and state workers....sweet, sweet tax dollars are the answer

I have no respect for disagreements that escalate into violence of any sort. Whether it's husband and wife, brother and sister, nieghbor and neighbor, country and country. Just me of course....you can respect it all day long, that's your business

@CaptchaThis Knowing what I do about the Inmate roster at the Lane County Jail, you are listed the same hour you enter the facility. I check it every day. That is how I am quite aware of the the revolving door at the jail. So, it IS expected that within 2 hours of being taken into custody, an arrestee SHOULD be listed.
