Crashes disrupt I-5 in Oregon as holiday travelers hit the road

EUGENE, Ore. - Multiple crashes created congestion on Interstate 5 on Wednesday.
As of 11:30 a.m., a crash was blocking the ramp eastbound I-105 onto I-5 southbound.
A crash has also occurred at I-5 southbound near Beltline (milepost 195).
A third crash involving has occurred at I-5 southbound at milepost 180, south of Creswell.
Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes or expect delays and congestion.
Trouble hit I-5 near Roseburg in the early afternoon.
By 3:20 p.m., all southbound I-5 lanes were open five miles north of Roseburg after being closed by crashes.
Transportation officials said drivers should expect congestion as backed up traffic gets through.
ODOT asks all motorists to drive with additional caution due to the holiday traffic volumes: Allow additional space between vehicles and reduce speed if experience rain showers.

use some local comedians. Â Have them come up with some safe driving tips and have ODOT display them in high wreck areas to keep drivers minds on the road instead of somewhere else.
