ALBANY, Ore. -- Firefighters worked into the early hours of Sunday morning to douse a burning Albany home.
The Albany Fire Department was called out to a garage fire on Glendale St. just before 12:50 a.m. Sunday morning. Crews arrived to find that a garage fire had spread to the house.
The homeowner safely escaped the burning home with her child and pets, fire officials said.
The remote location of the home made it difficult for crews to access fire hydrants. Albany Fire called for extra water tanker trucks and help from nearby fire departments.
The intensity of the fire forced crews to battle the flames from outside the home. Firefighters worked through the night and contained the primary fire to the home on Glendale St, fire officials said.
The house was significantly damaged in the fire, as were a few nearby vehicles. A neighbor's house also had some slight damage from the flames.
Investigators are still looking into what caused the blaze.
