ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Officials from the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team arrested a Roseburg man on Tuesday, and say he was in possession of 3/4 pound of meth.

Authorities say that a meth trafficking investigation started in August on Scott A. Wiley, 44, who lives at 2651 NE Stephens.

DINT made several controlled buys of meth from Wiley, leading to a search warrant being obtained.

DINT Commander Curt Stricklin says they have had been watching Wiley since august. "We've developed information that he was dealing large amounts here locally, that he was traveling down to California and bringing back large dealer amounts."

Prior to serving the search warrant at his residence, DINT officials say they took Wiley into custody during a traffic stop on Broad Street at about 11:30 a.m. Authorities say a search of the vehicle he was driving found about two ounces of meth. In addition, DINT detectives say Wiley had $800 of DINT buy money in his pants pocket.

Officials say the search of his residence found over 1/2 pound of meth hidden in the duct work of an appliance.

The total weight of the meth found at both locations is about 3/4, pound with a street value of approximately $20,000.

Wiley was lodged in Douglas County Corrections on charges of Possession, Manufacture and Distribution of Meth.
