DUII suspect: 'I will probably blow a .12, but I’m hoping to be a .07'
Samuel Purtle was arrested on a DUII charge Sunday morning.

WOODBURN, Ore. – A Marion County sheriff’s deputy arrested a DUII suspect who drove 100 mph through a construction zone on Interstate 5 Sunday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

“I will probably blow a .12, but I’m hoping to be a .07,” suspect Samuel Purtle told the deputy during the traffic stop.

Turns out, his blood alcohol content was .15, almost twice the legal limit, sheriff’s office spokesman Chris Baldridge said in a news release.

The deputy saw Purtle driving his 1997 Acura at speeds of up to 100 mph on I-5 near Woodburn just before 7:30 a.m.

Purtle failed a sobriety test and was arrested on a DUII charge. He also received several traffic citations.
