Duck Dart
Rose Myers of the Ocean Beach Animal Hospital holds the rescued duck, that was wounded from a dart on July 24, 2012 in Longview, Wash. For more than a month people have been trying to help the duck on Lake Sacajawea near Longview that had a blow dart through its neck. But the duck could still swim and fly and got away from everyone trying to capture it, until Tuesday. Longview Parks Supervisor Curt Nedved and two employees were able to nab the wily waterfowl in a fishing net. Nedved had to pull out the dart himself because the duck was tangled in the net.
