Does a Husky hating Duck fan work at PBS?

EUGENE, Ore. - At first blush, the inclusion of the University of Oregon in the PBS NewsHour's "Listen to Me: the College Edition" seems worth reporting in the local media.
But less than 15 seconds into the story, a map of the participating schools begs a different question:
Does some Husky hating Duck fan work at PBS?
The map shows the outline of the State of Washington filled in with green - appropriate, given Washington is the Evergreen State, after all.
But it's the big yellow O atop all that green that might make Husky and Cougar fans toss their tote bags in protest.
They are in good company: everybody knows the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" is ... Wisconsin?
The University of Wisconsin Badgers managed to take over Minnesota, per the map.
In other words, instructors who teach copy editing and graphic designing at the participating universities now have what they like to call a "teaching moment."
Not to badger anyone, but you really can't duck this issue ...
I looks more like the map was done by a middle school dropout than a journalism-major college graduate. More and more examples of illiterate high school and college graduates pop up every day in news articles that are written by PAID journalists who don't *really* know what they're doing. Most of them need remedial English/Grammar and Geography.
Probably should include geography in the lesson plan. And Oregon should be Orange!!
My tax dollars (The Corporation for Public Broadcasting) at work! It is truly wonderful to have the erudition and knowledge base of the PBS Newshour working for us to offset the ignorance of the likes of FOX and CBS and NBC, where people can't rely on the taxpayers to support them. Although I wouldn't want to bet a lot on better results from any J-school graduate unless their quality has improved since I went to Duck U; then J-school was for liberal arts majors who had finally figured out they needed to work after graduation but didn't have enough math/science to get a teaching certificate.
@hewhoo Newshour is funded entirely by DONORS not TAXPAYERS. Source:http://www.pbs.org/newshour/aboutus/funders.html
@RelaxThereIsNoGod Going to that site and the Financial link from CPB on that site, I find absolutely nothing that says any of the $445 million congressional appropriation avoids Newshour.
@RelaxThereIsNoGod That particular show is entirely funded by donors? The network that it runs on is partially funded by taxpayers. =/
@RelaxThereIsNoGod  @hewhoo So "donors" aren't "taxpayers?" Writing off a donation might reduce taxes owed but it usually doesn't eliminate all of them.
OK, this guy has the San Jose decal in So. Cal. He has SC north of it.Â
Evidently Big Bird has already lost his job as fact-checker for PBS.
HAHAHAHA!  Chuckling out loud here...
Americans are notoriously bad a geography-this just proves it!
@LifeisGOOD007 Your bar for proving something is shockingly low.
@LifeisGOOD007 And why are they bad at Geography?
PBS is educating our youngsters?
