Dog bites a child taking Saturday swim in Umpqua River
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Douglas County Animal Control is asking for your help finding a yellow Labrador that bit a 12-year-old Saturday at Lower Cleveland Rapids near Roseburg, Douglas County Officials said.
The biting happened at around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The dog, a golden or yellow Lab Retriever bit a 12-year-old child that was swimming at Lower Cleveland Rapids.
DCAC said that the dog may have belonged to a couple that was driving a silver SUV. That couple had a black lab and another golden retriever at the Lower Cleveland Rapids at the same time as the biting.
Oregon state law requires that any dog involved in a biting be found for observation. Douglas County Environmental Health Division asks anyone with information about the dog or its owner to call 541-440-3574, or the Douglas County Animal Control at 541-440-4471
