SWEET HOME, Ore. -- Utility crews started working to clear downed power lines from Highway 20 Saturday morning after they fell across the roadway about three miles east of Sweet Home.
The Oregon Department of Transportation initially reported the road hazard just before 6 a.m. Saturday on Santiam Highway 20 at around milepost 34.
Workers moved the lines off to the side of the road at around 7:10 a.m., allowing traffic to go by as they finished making repairs.
There will be a flagger in place while utility workers finish the project, so drivers are asked to use caution.
Officials initially asked drivers to find alternate routes down Highway 126 or Highway 22.
