EUGENE, Ore. -- Police cited a driver in a crash that sent two people to the hospital on Friday near the Eugene Airport, state officials said.
At around 11:15 a.m. Friday, state troopers responded to a reported rollover crash near the Eugene Airport.
They said that Garrett Zeek, 19, tried crossing Highway 99 at Awbrey Lane toward the airport when his Jeep hit a southbound Nissan Altima driven by 50-year-old Gary Taylor.
Police said that the impact flipped Zeek's Jeep Grand Cherokee onto its side. Investigators said that both men were wearing seat belts.
Both Taylor and Zeek were taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend with non-life threatening injuries.
State Police Officials said that Zeek was cited after the crash for failure to yield right of way.
The highway was partially blocked for an hour at Awbrey Lane as crews cleared the area.
